PRAISE + JESUS!
Our Dear Friend in Jesus,
In thanksgiving to God, our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, Our Healer and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit, our Wisdom, Truth and Love, we, the Hermits of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, desire to share with you, our Brothers and Sisters in Jesus, the Joy of Prayer, Conversation with Jesus Christ on the 32nd Anniversary of our Foundation on October 23, 1976.
Dying on the cross, Jesus said to his mother and John, his disciple standing near, “Woman, behold, your Son! Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your Mother!’” (Jn 19:26-27) From that moment Mary, the Mother of Jesus, became our Mother, too, because the disciple represents each of us.
Jesus Christ calls each one of us, personally and individually, to know His Word: “I am the good shepherd. The shepherd lays down His life for His Sheep.” (Jn 10:11)
Then Our Lord warns us, saying: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (Jn 10:10)
Like each one of us, every baby conceived in his and her Mother's womb is a child of God, created in God's image and likeness. It is the Will of our heavenly Father that every child be cared for, loved and given the right to be born, cherished, and given the opportunity be raised with His Wisdom, Love and Constant Protection from Evil. To kill a baby in his and her Mother's womb or at any time is a sacrilege, a mortal sin, and a sin against God's Commandment: "You shall not kill." (Ex 20:13)
Every citizen of the USA is a child of God, called to fulfill God's Will, not his or her own will. The founding fathers of the United States of America clearly stated that all our citizens are to be given the freedom to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are one nation under God. That means we are called to sacrifice ourselves and be determined to recognize any evil that destroys our Right to Life from the sacred moment of God's creative action of our conception in our mother's womb to our death, whenever God calls us home to eternal life with Him.
In his first letter St. Peter, the Rock, on whom Christ built His Church, wrote: "Stay sober and alert. Your opponent the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith." (1 Pet 5:8-9)
Now Jesus tells you: "I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know Me, as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep." (Jn 10:14-15) You and all of us are His own. He calls each one of us to be and to become His own. Will you say, "Yes" to Jesus Christ to be and to become His own?
Whoever you are and wherever you are, we, the Hermits of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, are praying with you and for you from dawn to dusk and from dusk to dawn.
With our boundless love, prayer and gratitude to you for your listening,
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
